ALDERNEY WEEK PLUSAnd the fun continues... .
This extra weekend is really a trial, but if successful, we would like it to become a regular extension to Alderney Week.
Friday 17th August : 09:00-1:00pm French Street Market (subject to transport logistics having been solved) French Traders will be setting up their stalls to sell fresh produce, from cheeses to charcuteries and other mouth-watering s;pecialities from Britanny and Normandy. The market will also include our local traders' stalls who will be part of this exciting new event.
THE ALDERNEY WEEK OLYMPIC BALL: 8.00pm
The winning countries’ tables will be expected to learn the tune and words of their respective national anthem in time for the medals presentation when their national flags will fly high. Participants will be expected to attend in sports attire representing the colours of their country which will be confirmed as they book their tables. Tables of 10 (parties or individuals) and tickets are £25, including dinner, At this stage we are almost sold out, so please email us and we'll put you on the waiting list. .
Saturday 18th August: 09:00-1:00pm French Street Market (subject to transport logistics having been solved)
from 5:00pm onwards A STAR-STUDDED "Back to the 60's Pop Concert" The evening kicks off with a spit roast pig supper followed by the stars of the Sixties "The Swinging Blue Jeans" and "The Class of 64"
Rock and bop the night away at this fantastic Pop Concert in aid of Alderney Cancer Relief, organised jointly by the Alderney Week Team and Dougal Bohan and his daughter Jennifer and is a World Premiere here in Alderney, starring Alan Lovell, Peter Oakman, Geoff Bannister & Graham Hollingworth, and “The Class of ‘64” with Brian Poole of THE TREMELOES, Mick Avery of THE KINKS, Eric Haydock of THE HOLLIES and Tlony Crane of THE MERSEYBEATS. What a line-up of stars! Compere is BBC Radio Guernsey's John Randall. Tickets are £20 within the covered seated area (almost sold out!) or £15 in the standing area (food not included) and all net proceeds will go to Alderney Cancer Relief. No Under 14-s admitted. Access to the conceert arena will only be for ticket holders who will be provided with security wrist bands.However, access to the bar and food area is open to the public.

According to everybody, last year's Alderney Week was the best ever.
